"Joining a community group grew their confidence"
In the second half of the year, one of our Age 4 Tutors began attending the local Aboriginal interagency group as a HIPPY representative. She has also been given the opportunity to become the minute taker for their meetings. This is a new experience for her and is developing her confidence in taking part in a meeting process: speaking in front of other service providers and being the formal record keeper for a group.
Not only is it supporting her training, but it also provides a valuable connection between HIPPY and the Aboriginal interagency networks.

She is being supported by me and YWCA Aboriginal Community Development Officer to learn how to enter the minutes into the official meeting template, attach accompanying documents and circulate them amongst the group. She says that this support makes her feel empowered and she is really developing confidence in this role.
